DID YOU KNOW? Positive Life offer a free and confidential Rapid HIV Testing service. You can get advice from our staff or book a test by calling 0800 137 437 between 10 am and 4 pm -  Monday to Friday

Our OraQuick Rapid Test is quick and non-invasive and involves taking a swab of the fleshy areas around your gums - (think Covid test, but without the gagging and sore throat!)

There are no needles. There is no blood.

Results are accurate and an onward fast-track referral service is available for those who are found to be HIV+

It is important to remember that the symptoms of HIV will vary from person to person and the only way to be sure of your HIV status is to get a test.

However, we do know that approximately 70-90% of people recently diagnosed with HIV experience early symptoms, which occur about a week to ten days after being exposed to the virus.

This is a result of your immune system reacting to the HIV virus.

The most common symptoms reported are severe flu-like symptoms, including a sore throat and fever, and a rash on the chest.

Other symptoms can include fatigue, nausea and diarrhoea but remember, everyone is different.
