HIV Ireland & Positive Now at Dublin Pride

A message from Erin Nugent of HIV Ireland:

Thank you so much for your support for HIV Ireland and/or Positive Now in the past. It is fantastic to have so many friends.

I am writing to let you know that this year, HIV Ireland and Positive Now have decided to walk under one banner in the Pride Parade. We are hoping to have as many people as possible walk with us, carrying the red ribbon symbol as a show of solidarity with those living with HIV (many of whom will be in the general crowd) and as a remembrance of friends, family, and partners we have lost to AIDS. All going well, we will also have a float with some crazy good music.

We are asking that people consider wearing the colours of red, white, and black (the colours of our logos) in any variety to help give us a strong visual image on the day. We would also appreciate lots of tweets if you are up for it!

When: Saturday, June 24th
Where: St. Stephen’s Green
When: 12:00pm (According to the Dublin Pride website, the parade takes off at 2:00pm sharp but the rally, speeches, and general buzz will begin at 12:00pm).

We will be giving out the signs out on the day, so look out for these banners:

hiv ire

And signs with this symbol:

rib

Thank you so much for considering this opportunity to support our organisations. It would mean a lot to see you all there.

With much warmth,
Erin
